Wondering what size ipad would be best (college student)?

Question by Kristina W: Wondering what size ipad would be best (college student)?
So I am thinking about getting an ipad, and I think that a 16GB one might be big enough, however I am not sure.

I plan on using it to take notes (I actually do not mind the keyboard on the ipad, or maybe with a stylus), plan my schedule, use it for homework in between classes. I was also thinking about downloading my textbooks on it.. so I don’t have to lug those heavy books around with me. I might put minimal music on it, however not a whole lot. No movies. I was thinking about getting pages, keynote and numbers, as well as maybe some of the game apps.. Plus I saw an amazing flash card app.

I have a macbook pro, so I am not using it as a substitute for my computer, but as a learning tool, and I am thinking in the long run, if I do end up getting my textbooks through the ipad, then the money I save will pay for the ipad itself. =)

Anyways, do you think the 16GB will be big enough?… I know right now my ipod touch is only about 4GB full, even with the game apps and music I have on there.

16GB is enough; I’m grabbing a 32GB just because I like to have tons of books, music and random apps on my iOS devices, but most people can get away with 16GB I would think.

What do you think? Answer below!

Hmm. If you are going to use the iPad to take notes, I strongly recommend getting the keyboard dock for it:

16gb should be enough for what you are using it for. Since you already have a MacBook Pro, I think you don’t need an iPad, it will just be a distraction. But for the textbooks, it isn’t a bad idea. Are you sure that the textbooks on the iPad aren’t the same price as the hard copy? I don’t know how much space 1 textbook takes up but it cant be that much, and if it is too much take away text books you don’t use anymore.
