The TiVo app desperately needs to add the ability to stream the video/audio from the TiVo to the iPad app. I switched to TiVo thinking it was superior to the Optimum Online DVR. It was until Optimum came out with a TiVo app does content streaming to the iPad. Now I’m seriously thinking of switching back unless TiVo can add this feature soon to their iPad app.

Wish I could watch shows on the iPad that are sitting on my TiVo. Now that would be something.

I agree..It just seems like a fancy remote control. I have a Slingbox and can watch and control my TIVO from my computer or smart phone from anywhere in the world. I watch my TIVO on Slingbox on my Sprint EVO. The quality is amazing and rarely goes out. You can also hook up cameras to it, so you can monitor your home while away. I’m not sure why TIVO isn’t using this technology. It would seem like they could easily do what Slingbox does. Come on TIVO. Get with it!

Cool, so I can use this app to stream a recorded show from my Tivo to the iPad?!? Oh wait, no. Plus you can control your Tivo when you are away from the house, so I can watch shows while I’m outside of my own home, a Slingbox-killer, cool!! Oh wait, no. So… it really is just a fancy remote control. This has a ton of potential, Tivo, but …….

Dear Tivo, if the app is not available take this damn video down!

I really want this app and Hulu+ on TiVo Premiere, the product just is not complete without them. I’m happy they are coming, but my patience is wearing thin!

Why have a blitzkrieg marketing campaign and tie-in contest if your not ready for primetime? Oh that’s right, your late to the party as Xfinity has beat you to the game by months now with a REAL whole home DVR with iPad app and control that doesn’t restrict your ability to watch shows on another set (which TiVo hides in their literature and in reality is pretty much useless as they have implemented). Nighty night TiVo the end is near, “Buddy TV” has beaten you to the app store

This has been pure vaporware…someone should have lost their job over this…announcement 6 weeks ago…still no app

Looks great but will it ever even arrive? This was announced on Nov.22nd and has been “coming soon since”. Of course, the TiVo Premiere’s UI has been promised to be completed for almost a year.

  16. YouTuber2006 Says:

@sailorspoon Why else would you need the App then? I swear, you can see some really “special” comments on Youtube everyday.

  17. sailorspoon Says:

So I need a TiVo Premiere to use the App? Lame.

  18. dgood48080 Says:

@NegZ68 With only one processor core enabled and limited or no image caching in the current software, the HD interface is sluggish. Im pretty disappointed with the performance. Updates can fix everything they just need to get it done. I wonder what the issue is.

  19. NegZ68 Says:

@dgood48080 i agree, after being a TiVo acolyte for many years, i was sorely disappointed in the sluggish, unresponsive new UI.

  20. dgood48080 Says:

looks great. When is this coming out?

Im thankful for this but would rather see a much needed system update than time and money spent on this app.

The new tivo is buggy and hangs often.
